To our Cherished Volunteers:

First of all, THANK YOU! Thank you for your ongoing support through the use of your time and talents. We know that each of you has many commitments, and we want you to know that your efforts are noticed and cherished!

VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION WEEKEND:

Please put on your calendars March 31 – April 2, 2023. CVR is hosting a volunteer appreciation weekend! Join us for all of it or only the part that works best for your schedule!!! I’ll send out more information as time draws closer.

For now, the plans include joining with the Obed rangers on April 1 for their morning climbing at Lilly. Then, we will have an afternoon orientation for all the volunteers who will be serving during retreats in 2023 while past volunteers will relax and see all the improvements that have been made through the years! Saturday will end with an appreciation dinner for all volunteers – past and present!

For those who are able to join us for more than just Saturday, April 1, as you know we have the four cabins. Folks are welcome to double up, bring your rv’s or tents, or crash with us or down at the Lodge. Just let me know so that I plan correctly for everyone who plans to spend the night!

2023 DATES AND EVENTS:

As we have gotten more interest in CVR, it has gotten harder to ask our retreat volunteers to join in with us AFTER a group books, so in 2023 we are trying something different. Attached here are the current offerings (both as a calendar and by event category, depending on how your brain works best!)

ACTION: please choose an event that would be your weekend(s) and let us know which weekend(s) work best for you.

NOTE: If no one books for that CVR event, we will let you know fourteen (14) days in advance. Then, if you still prefer to come, we will do some facility work and have a time of fellowship. If you prefer to stay home and do something else, that’s fine, too.

If you are not able to volunteer in 2023, please let me know, and I will remove your information from the email group that I have set up.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR:

1. Kitchen – with any retreat event (all volunteers help in some way during the retreats but those who ask to sign up to serve in the kitchen will take lead on food preparation and clean up)
2. Children’s program – family camp or grief retreat
3. Facility/Service days – come in for a couple of hours, the whole day, or stay the weekend!
4. Admin/Website – ongoing administrative needs and website updating
