What is the purpose of the Grieving Family Retreat?
Our society doesn’t handle grief and loss very well. Often, a grieving loved one is expected to “be over it” long before they have fully processed their loss. CVR offers a time away for the grieving family to be able to explore their hurts, speak with Grief Mentors, and work through some grief exercises to help them understand that is normal to grieve and to understand the grieving process better.
How often do you host Grieving Family Retreats?
We extend invitations to grieving families who contact us or who are suggested by a loved one. These Grieving Family Retreats can occur throughout our open times, depending on the schedule and the availability of Grief Mentors.
How much does a Grieving Family Retreat cost?
Families are not charged to attend. If you would like to help us keep these grief retreats free or if you would like to sponsor a family, please donate here.
How do I apply to attend a Grieving Family Retreat?
Go to our Grief Retreat page and fill out the form on the bottom, or fill out this Grief Retreat Worksheet and send it to us via email or snail mail. You may contact us by email cvr@ClearViewRetreat.org or by phone 615-739-0634 if you have any questions.
What do I need to bring with me?
Clothes, toiletries, and needed medications. And, don’t forget the bug spray and sunscreen, too, if you use them. If you plan to go to Clear Creek or the Obed River, you need to bring your own swim towels.
