Also it is not good for a person to be without knowledge, And he who hurries his footsteps errs.
Proverbs 19:2 NASB
Often we agree to do a task or fill a position before knowing all that we are expected to do. Whether it is due to our people-pleasing, our desire
to belong, our need to be needed, or another need, we do not take the time to gather information and then pray. We just jump in and hope it works. Have we thought about how that new role will impact our home life? Have we asked enough (or any) questions about the requirements? Once those are done, we need to be able to say, “That sounds possible but let me pray about it. When do you need to know?”
It is so hard to say no, but sometimes we will have to. Sometimes, the answer will be yes, and with the proper knowledge, prayer, and familial support, the experience will be so much smoother and positive.
