Proverbs 2:9

How often do we ask ourselves, “what is the right choice? What should we say yes or no to?” Our children will want us to be the mediator, our church will want us to be involved, the local nonprofit will be needing volunteers, the educational group we belong to will need helping hands, a friend will invite us to their new business launch party, a neighbor will want us to help plan the block event… on and on it goes. All of these needs are good and wonderful things to get involved with. Without a firm foundation in, and an understanding of, our priorities (priorities unique to ourselves, our talents, and our families), we will be forever running from good path to good path to good path, stressed and flustered, never finding the best path. Ask God to guide your heart in the ministry and tasks He has placed before you, and learn to say, “No. Thank you for asking though” unless God gives you a firm “Yes! This is your next step.”
